hi im sorry to post again but in so scared. Been referred for mri as ENT doc says i don't have vertigo. Im scared its a brain tumor. I have suffered with dizziness for as long as i have had HA. Sometimes lasts a long time but gp always said it anxiety related. Now have to go for this scan, i don't have headaches and always have regular eye tests. Have occasional weakness on left side on numbness on face but when in busy it goes. Any advice i have 3 young children and don't want to die

Yep... go for the test. Just know that not one... not one, of anyone on the anxiety boards with brain tumor fears has ever been diagnosed. Nor will you as you have no symptoms other than what will again be diagnosed as anxiety or something totally benign (IMO).

It's a recurring patter of HA that I see every day. "There's something wrong I know it"... Then the doc says "Everything looks normal but lets do this test to be sure" Then it's "OMG!! Why did he order the test? It must be serious"... It's a catch 22. It's chasing a diagnosis as opposed to treating the real illness. It's HA at it's finest breathing fire down your neck and being fed by your own fears. Learning how to starve the dragon stops the fire and the fear.

Hi!

Suffering from random dizziness myself, I'm pretty sure mine is from my neck/shoulder stiffness/tension. Never had a scan though, I always have thought that there should be more serious symptoms than just vague dizziness (I know couple of people that have had brain tumors and trust me, there was A LOT more serious stuff than just dizziness/vertigo).

But I think the key sentence in Your post is "I have suffered with dizziness for as long as i have had HA", this I think - not a doctor though - is the cause/effect/correlation :)

Take care and try to relax.

Just had a head MRI myself today, so I know how scary they can be, but like others have said, your symptoms do not indicate anything like a brain tumour at all. You'll be fine I'm sure :)
