A Hearty Hello to All!
Just checking in. Anxiety overall doing very well since thankfully stumbling upon this site last year! Still stubborn swallowing problem when I get nervous or anxious, and do need your collective clever insight. One what I would consider real last stumbling block, as panic attacks (I am really proud to say this) have been 0 since about one year ago October!!!!!
Suggestions on the following: Since the swallowing/chocking sensation first occured a bit over 1.5 years ago in a restaurant, I have had this very annoying avoidance behavior of restaurants, and am really missing out on a lovely time with the hubby to go to restaurants. I don't even consider luncheon dates with friends, etc., any more and will go out of my way to avoid eating out at a restaurant. Now, as you all in the UK might say, I think this is really daft on my part, and I am angry with myself that this last tiny bit of a full recovery is lingering. Yes, I finally gave in last August 2006 and went through an exhaustive full workup to r/o any physical causes..upper GI, tummy xrays, etc. As I suspected, it is a nervous tummy, and what I told my doc (he giggled, and said thanks for the diagnosis...LOL) I think it is garden variety globus....
Suggtstions, thoughts very welcome to overcome the restaurant glitch!
I am so happy to report to you though that I don't want any of you to lose hope...I have seen real improvement and a complete drop for the needs of any and all anti anxiety meds since embarking on this site...and as mentioned above, zero...yes zero...panics full blown attacks[^][Wow!][Yeah!]
