So I had my cystoscopy today further to the microscopic hematuria I posted about previously.
It was done in day surgery, which of course made it all the more scary-seeming. The nurses were WONDERFUL. Urologist asked me about my cancer/smoking history and seemed more worried by the minute. Oh Yay.
Anyway, after he was done I nabbed him for a prelim report. He said I had a healthy bladder although I have some benign polyps which he clearly isn't worried about. I asked him about removing them and he said it was more trouble than it was worth. He said the bleeding wasn't coming from my bladder, but further down in the ureter, which is what I suspected. I told him about my aging lady parts, and we had a brief chat about that.
This is all I got from him before he took off.
I have a followup appt in Feb to find out more of the specifics.
So I am relieved, although I have a residual concern about the polyps. Wish I could have spoken to him in more detail about those.
