After a traumatic end to 2006 where I spent 4 months getting the run around from various doctors, who caused me a great deal of depression and anxiety, I did very little except sit in a chair most days.

As each day blended into the next I felt comfortable in my little chair and used it's reclining action to get to sleep.

I now am suffering with aching throbbing pains in my back and down the back of my legs.
Doc says it is musular skeletal but when I relax, as in start to drift off to sleep, I get a shooting throb that wakes me up.
Now I cant sleep in bed because of this.

Has anyone else had anything like this?
Can anxiety/stress cause muscles to react like this?

hello,

i've had something similar happen to me. basically, i have been sleeping on my couch for the past 5 weeks because i can't sleep lying down due to acid reflux and indigestion problems all caused by stress and anxiety.

i've really noticed the effect it has had on my back and neck and the muscles in both areas are incredibly sore and stiff.

the best thing i can recommend is going to physio to get the muscles all loosed up again.

hope that helps
