Hello everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has ever been through this sensation before.

About three days ago, I started getting the feeling that theres a hair in my throat, since then I've felt it constantly, except for when I'm eating. There's no pain with it, and neither when I eat. Sometimes during eating my throat will begin to feel dry, but usually some water helps resolve that.

My other problem is, every time I eat something minty (gum, candy) I start to feel that lump even stronger, and its almost like my throat is tingling. Sometimes coughing helps calm it down, but until I get all the mint out of it, it won't stop.

I'm really scared it has something to do with a tumour in my throat. Another thing which I noticed started around 2 years ago is sometimes when I turn my head and swallow I hear a click in my throat. If I put my hand on my throat while my head is turned, and swallow again...I can actually feel where the click is coming from. The lump sensation isn't in the same area, but it feels like a hair is stuck, or there is phlegm stuck there.

Please let me know what you guys think!

A lump in the throat feeling is so very common in anxiety suffers. I have felt this many many times. You are okay :)

Thanks Rose xx

Isn't it weird that it would start tingling with mint though? Seems strange to me :( Lump is also constantly there...

I'm not sure if there's a scratch maybe, that's my only other guess

I never heard of the cancer symptom; tingles with mint ;) it could be a scratch or nothing at all.

If there was a tumor you wouldn't have eaten fine. It's anxiety and its name is globus sensation, you're fine when you're eating because your brain takes it as "I'm eating so I can't be in danger".Dry throat is another common symptom of anxiety. You'll feel like it comes and goes, sometimes the feeling is gone for days and than it comes back. I have the same feeling and thought I have throat cancer, I saw 2 Ent specialists, one said I have very tight throat and jaw and the other said I just have post nasal drip but they both said I don't have cancer. Believe me, you're fine. Hope you feel better soon.

Yes I get these symptoms as well when I am particularly stressed.

Try some meditation and breathing exercises. See if it settles down with that.
