Hey everyone. I'm kind of going through a bit of a throat cancer panic at the moment, so please bear with me.

I've had a lump sensation in my throat on the left side, just below the Adams apple for about 3 years now. Sometimes when I move my Adams apple intentionally to see if it's still there, it's a scratchy sensation. I've been trying to convince myself it's maybe just globus, but isn't that usually in the middle of the Adams apple? Mine is slightly off to the side.

Also, there is some soreness now on that side as well. Admittedly, I've been swallowing like crazy to see if the lump feeling will go away, but the development of soreness has scared me anyway.

I've never had difficulty swallowing, hoarseness, or bouts of coughing up blood.

Thanks again.

I used to get globus a lot and still do sometimes. I believe mine is caused from tmj (basically tensing up the jaw and neck muscles unconsciously) and it ALWAYS effects one side worse than the other. I actually noticed last year that one side of my face is larger than the other around my jaw line. It isn't really noticeable unless you're looking for it but it freaked me out. I was sent for an urgent scan and all was clear. The doctor said it is probably a result of prolonged muscle tension on one side.
