Hi had a colonoscopy last week. was told every thing loked normal, Took biopsies for Microscopic colitis. Just been tols that bowel can look cancer free but that biopsies can show otherwise. Am now I meltdown. can anyone help. olease

Can somebody PLEASE respond to this for both mine and Susie's sake as it was me browsing the forum last night that has frightened her and now I feel really bad as we are both waiting for biopsies results...mine from 31st December and I have to have an MRI now so bricking it and in a very bad place...have even ran away this week and now my family are sick of me but they don't understand the sheer terror...

Where the hell do I turn to now?? There's no help out there....want to be one of those people with cancer that is an inspiration but my mind isn't going to let me do that owing to this pathetic health anxiety fear stuff.

Susie...I would say to reassure YOU, as you've had yours via private healthcare...you definitely would have heard by now if there was bad news and also they told you what they were looking at in your biopsies, unlike me. My experience of private healthcare was that I was always told unlike the nhs who leave you to worry yourself sick.

I would say try to put it into context. Nobody has said "we are looking for cancer". I know the fear you both have and Susie has helped reassure me too.

HA stokes the fire and your mind runs riot. I had a small tumour removed last year and was told it wasnt cancer. I still need 6 monthly sigmoidoscopies to keep tabs and Tuesdays suggested it was ok yet he took 'routine' biopsies as he did last time.

My mum explained when I was in meltdown that specialists are just examining people so very thoroughly it is just an advance in science and checking techniques.

She also told me she had cancerous cells remove from a smear well over 30 years ago.

Not easy to stop worrying but that will defo be causing any IBS symptoms you may have.
