menthol vapour rub on soles of feet harmful??

hi guys, so I read putting vix vapour rub on feet can help stop a dry cough I have bad one following a cold I had, I didn't have any vix but used a different brand vapour rub on my feet and now my feet and lower legs are very tingly and feel so so weird and prickly im terrified it feels like a cool sensation going all up my legs im so worried its going to harm me :'( has anyone else done this and felt the same leg sensations after?? iv washed it off but it still seems to be getting worse, panicking big time :'(

Hi I don't think it will harm you. It will be ok.

You typically rub it on your chest or around your nose to help you breathe. I can't imagine rubbing it on your feet would be any different.

If it has menthol in it, that can happen as its also used in creams for muscle soreness for that reason.

I think with a skin preparation you would me more worried if it caused rashes / soreness.
