Afraid doctors. No pap in 10 years...

Hi,
I am 49 years old. I avoid doctors due to severe health anxiety. I have not had a pap smear in 10 years (bad I know) and I am petrified to go have one done. I have spotting but it could be due to my age.
So afraid that I will get bad news because I waited so long. The longer I wait, the harder it is to go get it done.

You are not alone in this. The worst thing I can imagine is answering their health-unrelated questions such as "Why haven't you come earlier?". That is why I delay appointments and only see the doctor when I'm feeling really, I mean really, unwell.
