A student from my old high school passed from cancer, fear is through the roof

The same disease I have been worrying about nonstop since September. She passed today from cancer. A very aggressive type. I didn't know her well, but I feel for her friends as I had lost a friend just last February. Now this triggered my health anxiety. I have a feeling of something being stuck in the left side of my throat, and my sternum hurts at random times. I'm terrified and I feel like I'm the next one from my class in line to die. :(

This is a completely natural reaction when someone you know dies. It has probably happened to all of us at one time or another.

The symptoms you are describing are typical of health anxiety and will pass over time.

It is always sad when someone young dies of this terrible disease but it is very rare in your age group so the chances of you having cancer are minimal.
