acid reflux

can anyone else confirm whether this drug has also amplified there acid/indigestion heartburn etc etc

since ive been taking it 6 nights now its completely stamped on my anxiety depression but I when I go bed I can literally bring up acid.... muscle aches twitches I could write a book on what I believe are side effects!!!!!!!!!!

im already on lanzoprasol and acid was under control

Yes I think its the mirtazapine. I never used to get acid reflux at all until starting on mirtazapine. I take omeprazole now to keep it under control. for me its worth this side effect for the good things this med does.

Some people find mirtazapine an irritant, causing reflux, etc. A different brand might have a stronger coating helping it to get further down before it dissolves. It may help to take it with food.

I'm pretty new to mirtazapine too. Been on around a month, two weeks nearly on 30mg. I have started getting acid reflux the past two days. I've never had it before, I'm due to have my tablet, hope it doesn't get worse. Do you think it could just pass? Or could this side effect be here to stay?

its a side effect that has unfortunately stayed with me. if I missed the tablet that helps my acid reflux it is back again. but for me its controlled with omeprazole so I can cope with it and the positive effect mirtazapine has out weighs this side effect for me. but everyone is different so it could hopefully go away for u

Hi Nigel,

If your acid reflux was due to mirtazapine, you would have known about it from day one.

Most people suffer from acid reflux from time to time. I had it a lot when I was young (teens and twenties) and never thought it a big deal. It did pass as I got older.

I found taking something like zantac will lower the acid levels. I found it has got better over time but still there at times
