I've been constipated throughout my life, but this time it has been the longest without being able to "go." 4 weeks and my stomach is very bloated. Is this a record? I've tried every over the counter remedy, suppositories and prune juice. Not much success - only a slightly upset tummy, and not much has come out. No pain, not any more windy than usual, and what has come out looks a normal colour. Maybe I have irritated things so much now that it has not helped the problem?
I've got hypothyroidism, having an extremely stressful time at the moment, and been on an increased dose of Citalopram - 40 mcg for two months now. Also, I am clearly starting to go through the menopause.
I am going to see the doctor, but in my mind can't imagine the blockage can be anything else but a tumour. I am scared. Has anyone got any reassuring words or suggestions of what this might be, rather than my worst fears?
