Herpes from door handle?

I usually wash my hands before and after I use the restroom, but today I didn't wash before I went.

I opened the entrance to the bathroom with my left hand and then proceeded in using the restroom by touching my "private" part with that same hand. There were more people who just used that same door and it worries me.

Could I have potentially given myself herpes by handling this door, and then touching my skin?

Hi there, I very much doubt you would have got herpes this way, transmission is through skin to skin contact, it can only live on surfaces for about 10 seconds, if you could catch it this way I think everyone would be infected, so please don't worry its just your anxiety making you irrational, we have all been there, take care xxx
