I have had shoulder discomfort on the right side and burning in my chest for 3 months now. Only today started coughing up yellow phelgm? 5 chest xrays can it still be lung cancer :-(

I've had asthma for a long time and when I was younger I was prone to developing chest infections from colds. My GP told me that yellow phlegm was a symptom of this so it was time for antibiotics.

So, I would see your GP again now because this could help them to diagnose you. Sometimes they do chest X rays just in case because they area unsure from a physical examination and look for signs on them.
