Carbon monoxide fear??

I'm constantly worried that my house has carbon monoxide. We have an alarm but it is upstairs and the furnace and gas stove are downstairs. If we had carbon monoxide, would the alarm beep even though it's far away from the furnace?

The alarm would beep simply when there is enough carbon monoxide in the area to make it unsafe.
Install one next to your furnace etc for peace of mind if you can afford it, but I am sure you will be fine!!
