I had this feeling on and off for the last few years. It feels like there is a bubble of air in my throat I feel like I want to burp but I can't, sometimes it irradiates to the back behind the sternum. It will wake me up from my sleep and I get very anxious straight away, I keep thinking it's a heart attack. I went to the A&E the following day and the doctor said it didn't look like it was heart related, and gave me heartburn pills (I mentioned to him I had heartburn previous to that. But it feels like a spasm the bubble feeling starts like a small discomfort and then it feels like grows bigger and the pain comes it takes about 30 minutes to an hour to subside. Has anybody experienced that with GA?

Thank you

I get this feeling too and it makes it difficult to swallow at times. It only comes when I'm stressed so I'm sure it's down to anxiety. Have you mentioned it to your doctor?

Thank you for your answer. Yes I have gone to the Doctor's about it and I even had an upper gastric endoscopy and the digestive specialist couldn't see anything so he put it down to stress (It's true that when it happens usually I am stressed up) but every time I have this feeling I start thinking about heart attacks and I am fed up I would like to know if it is a common symptom in people with GA.
