Hi everyone,
As the title says I'm becoming increasingly worried about my urine retention. From being young I have had phases of retaining my urine and being unable to wee. Now I'm 23 and it's been happening on and off for just under a year. Up until now I associated the retention as an issue that comes with my disability( cerebral palsy) I've had anxiety but CBT helped massively and my day to day life is largely free from anxiety s o I don't think this is directly anxiety related.
When I retain I usually am unable to wee for anything from 24 -40 hours luckily I have never needed a catheter. I find I am unable to have a wee sometimes if I things to do in the day etc whereas when I know I'm going to be at home I can urinate in the morning fine.
In the past year I have had four UTI's and now vary from frequent urination, sore stomach ,cloudy urine to not going at all. It's really quite unpleasant. I'm going to the doctors in a couple of weeks to discuss this.
Has anyone experienced this. Is my urine retention pyschological?
