The life of a hypochondriac..

You develop a cough.

You Google the cough.

You all of a sudden have "lung cancer".

You cough so much that you start bursting blood vessels in your throat.

You cough up blood.

You Google coughing up blood.

You "have" TB.

You then give yourself a headache from the coughing.

You "have" a brain tumor.

You think "What if I have lung cancer that's spread to the brain?"

You post on here asking for reassurance.

You're taught some sense and are ultimately reassured.

You then notice you have a swollen lymph node.

You poke and prod at the lymph node until it becomes red and sore.

You Google painful lymph node.

You "have" lymphoma.

You book a doctors appointment.

You are told by the doctor you're fine.

You are so relieved, you could kiss your doctor.

You go home and celebrate.

You notice a rash.. :scared15:

I'm sincerely sorry if that upset you. I read it and it seemed like a light-hearted and humorous, yet serious and honest, way of explaining what it is like to have HA. It perfectly sums up the HA cycle without sounding too serious and negative. As someone who used to suffer terribly from HA, and I'm very familiar with that cycle of thinking, so please understand that I am in no way mocking what you've written. I know you may not have meant for it to be funny, but I think it has been written in a fantastic way that makes it so it can be interpreted in different lights. Try reading it and imagining that someone else had written it to explain HA and you might get a smile out of it :)

This is brilliant! I'm due at the doc this afternoon for my coughing up/sore throat. I saw her last week. She said come back open 2-3 weeks if you're not better we can do an X-ray. Don't know whether to go today or wait........ It's making me more anxious! X
