I know most members are not in the U.S. but for those that don't know it's currently the NFL Playoffs (football). One of the teams still fighting for a chance to play in the Super Bowl is the New Orleans Saints.

Well, my wife calls me yesterday and said that if the Saints make the Super Bowl we are getting free tickets to the game because her Uncle has ties with the team.

So, a year ago I would have did a backflip, cartwheel, and screamed with joy! But here I am in my state of mind today, and the first thing that comes into my head when she tells me we may go to the Super Bowl is... "too bad I have anxeity" [V]

My mind is telling me that there is no way I'd get through the plane ride from Los Angeles to Florida and even if I did make that okay, I would be a nervous wreck the whole time we are there.

You guys have helped me through so much, I just wanted to say thank you. But it gets depressing to not have my first thoughts me happy and excited, but worried and depressed. [V]

You need to try and change your thoughts. When you start to get the negative thoughts think of positive ones to replace them.

Say to yourself "I can do it"

HELLO I KNOW WHAT YA MEAN MY TEAM ALSO HAS A CHANCE TO BE IN THE SUPER BOWL AND I DONT THINK I COULD GO IF I HAD THE TICKETS ONE DAY THO..........SORRY IS THERE ANYWAY YOU CAN GET YA DOC GIVE YA SOME DIAZAPAM TO RELAX .......JUST A THOT NOW I HATE TO GO AGAINST YA ON THIS BUT IM A BIG HUGE PATRIOTS FAN.......BUT IM GLAD THE SAINTS ARE IN THERE.......WELL I WISH YA THE BEST AND HOPE YA CAN MAKE IT BUT IF YA CANT DONT BEAT YASELF UP ABOUT IT OK.............BEST TO YA.............LINDA[8D]

its that dreaded "anticipation" youre thinking some sort of catastrophe is going to happen even before you've set off, how do you know that you wont make the plane trip, take something with you to distract yourself from the feelings of anxiety for example:travel suduko or travel scrabble something to occupy your mind, what about music you like but make sure there songs that you know that way your mind wont wander, i know how hard it is joe to convince your self that nothing bad will happen, but please try to remember these feelings of anxiety are untrue there lies there stopping you from doing the things you like,
