Hi everyone,

My name is Laurie and I'm 22. I am in my last semester at university studying English Lit and Philosophy.

Recently my panic attacks have got out of control so I started taking fluoxetine 5 days ago. Looking for reassurance on side effects! Feeling very very low :( had to come home from university and cannot leave my mum's side.

Fluoxetine is an SSRI and they can take two weeks too adjust to and six weeks before full affect. SSRI's all work the same but are symptom specific. It is a very common SSRI, both my cousins use it.

Hi Laurie

I've been fluoxetine for 2 months (initially 20mg now 40mg) and have had no side effects whatsoever (or none that i've noticed). I hope this helps to reassure you :)
