hi there last night in bed i was either trying to get to sleep or just woke up im not sure but i didnt wake up with a fright ,i just felt something wasnt right in my body and then i realised it was my heart racing it was about 160-180 a minute it lasted about 5 minutes when i did some deep breathingit started to come down ,i have had this about 10 times over the years and only happens in bed in the same circumstances every time i have ran to the hospital and got ecg and they say it is racing but it a panic attack.but last night i couldnt go to hospital so i had to cope.how can this be a panic attack when im sleeping or relaxed i just cant help thinking one day it will happen and i will have a heart attack.ive had anxiety 10 years now with every heart symptom from missed beats to flutters but this racing is so terryifying.does any1 else suffer this ,would love to hear your comments thank you kind regards marcia

i have to do it for my kids if not for myself

hi molly i wake some nights with a racing heart, usually when ive been dreaming and it can happen a number of times as i try to get back to sleep afterwards. ive had thisfor about 2-3 years. other nights i sleep through without any disturbances. i wonder if its our subconsience releasing tension although i dont seem tense infact often i think ive been more relaxed during the day before this happens.
