Hi,

I recently got a Disabled Person's Freedom Pass due to my severe (and chronic) state of anxiety, according to the DVLA guidelines, people with severe states of anxiety would be likely to be refused a driving licence and therefore be eligible for a Freedom Pass.

Many people are unaware of this and as a suffer myself i speak from experience, another shocking thing is that people eligible for one require supervision but there is not a Companion Card.

I have made a petition to the Prime Minister and call for everyone to sign http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/FreedomPass/ people should claim this as its a right not a gift and where else does your local council pay for your travel, especially in London [no thanks to the Mayor].

There was an interesting article in the National Phobics Society newsletter recently about agoraphobics' elegibility for disabled parking passes due to their inability to walk very far (in some cases).

Officials weren't really geared up for such requests but it was possible at a pinch.
