My resting heart rate is around 60bpm which I'm happy is perfectly fine. However for example today I checked it at 62bpm then 3 minutes later it had gone up to 110 by just going outside and finishing up a bit of painting on the fence. This seems to happen whenever I do anything slightly physical, we have guinea pigs and cleaning their cage out can take it up to 140bpm in no time at all. I don't see how this can be normal, is it purely anxiety as I'm thinking about it beforehand and aware of being able to feel my chest. Does anybody else have a similar experience?

I used to feel the same way. Kept taking my pulse all the time and worried when it spiked. It still races sometimes but it's normal. Try to stop checking it and just feel it beating and breath. once you learn that it slows down and speeds up you will stop worrying so much.
