rust colored spit in the morning

I wake up spit a few times and its rust colored it goes away after a spit a few times or rinse my mouth and is gone all day. I grind my teeth very hard at night could this be the cause?

Yeah, potentially, but it may be gum disease, although that would normally result in blood when brushing your teeth. It could potentially be due to medication, or what you've eaten the night before. Get yourself checked out if you're worried, but don't be afraid, it's far more likely that this is either something minor, or it has a simple explanation.
