Hey guys,

I just wanted to update all of my supporters that I had my neurologist appointment today. ALL IS WELL. He says no ALS and some people just twitch. He did an emg on my right leg which always twitches but he could not catch a fascilitation (figures.) Also he did several nerve conduction studies on my hands and arms. I showed him my tongue scallop and asked if it was twitching and he said "Nope, I know what I am looking for."
So I guess it is safe to say I am healthy, the clinical exam went really well as well.

Is it okay that he only did an EMG on my leg, but also did other nerve conduction tests elsewhere?

Would he for sure see tongue twitching if it was ALS?

I am trying to take his word as GOLD as many have told me to.

Thank you all for your love and support through all of this, I guess I am just a twitcher~~~

WOOH,

Best,

Take his word for it. You 100% do not have ALS :yesyes:

They know what they are looking for and if there was a chance, any chance then trust me he would have picked up on it and looked in to it.

I was twitching for years and years, literally all over my body and i went through the same thing. Guess what? I don't twitch anymore :D

I may get the odd one, like everyone does, i've grown to like it :roflmao:

Ya, my neurologist said I have carpal tunnel. Given the hand pain today I tend to believe him!

Congrats Lilly!!

Hey guys,

Anxious me, googled EMG and I realized he didn't actually do an EMG, he just did nerve conduction tests... should I be worried? It was confusing because on his computer he pulled up an "emg" thing said that if I had ALS it would go wild, it was very calm... I guess he knows more than me about it, it just made me really nervous now knowing I didn't have an EMG. If he thought there was something wrong he would have given me a REAL EMG or atleast said I needed one right?

Thank you for your help,

Lilly

Really Lilly, it's time to put this to bed. Treat your anxiety and the rest will fall into place.

Great news Lilly! Your Neuro knows what he is talking about. If the nerve conduction study was not good it would warrant an EMG. Your test sounds like it was perfect and no other tests were needed. I am sure they really didn't think you needed the NCS but did it to calm your fears. So glad you got great news today!!

Jen and Fisherpa,

I know I need to do my best to believe the doctor and stop doing my own google/forum research. If something was wrong he would have seen it. I just keep thinking omg, what if he just has no experience with ALS? But obviously thats unrealistic he is a specialist of neurology

Thank you again!

xx
