View Full Version : Worried about taking Propranolol

When I'm not suffering panic attacks I'm always feeling light head/woozy/dizzy sort of drunk feeling, a strange pressure in my face and head, occasional ear and eye fullness/pressure and feeling nausea and shiver and generally unwell.

I am also feeling brain fog and a feeling as if I'm in a dream and nothing seems real and I think it's symptoms of anxiety as I am an anxious nervous person.

I have been suffering those symptoms constantly and the panic attacks for nearly 3 months and went to my GP. My GP prescribed me Propranolol 80mg but I'm scared to take them as I think it will make me feel worse.

Please advise.

Propranolol is fine, it's easy to take.
It does work, but I found it made me feel tired.

Thanks for the reply.

The reason I am worried about taking Propranolol is that one of the side effects with taking Propranolol is dizziness and nausea which I already suffer most of the time and I don't want to take Propranolol and feel even more dizzy and nauseas. Also my heart beats fast sometimes but not all the time even though I feel irritable, tense and anxious most of the time.

I experienced no dizziness or nausea due to propranolol.
It will slow your heart beat mainly and calm you.

When I first started taking propranolol I did notice it slowed me down a fair bit and made me tired but I think it was because I had been running on adrenaline for so long my body didn't know what was going on. It wasn't scary or anything I was just tired. I had also got myself into a state worrying about taking the tablets and hadn't been eating or sleeping properly so I think it was a mixture of all the stress too.

I now take the instant release ones as I find they're better for me as the long release ones don't work so good for me.
