After claiming ESA in July 2014, And receiving £91 per week, I finally had my WCA exam in April. 2015.

At the weekend I received a DWP letter saying I was placed into the support group (great, thinks I! MY cash will increase and I will get some much needed arrears).

However, my payment is now... Wait for it... £92!

Any extra has been taken out of my 'amount required to live' benefit!

Has anyone else met this phenomenon? Is there anyway of reclaiming the loss?

Any help appreciated!

It seems there is a regulation by HM Government that states 'your extra payment due to your partners age' is reduced if you are put into any of the ESA groups AND the Disability Enhancement payment is not payable if either one of you is over 60 - regardless of whether that person is the one affected by the relevant disability
