Hello

Long time no speak I guess! I have been very stable of late and trying not to let this latest problem become and issue!

I'll keep it short

Basically a few weeks ago I cut myself shaving and it was right on top of a mole on my chin. It made the mole look bigger than usual.

That said, I never noticed the mole before cutting my face if that makes sense.

Now that it has been a long time since the injury healed, the mole is now very obvious to me whereas I never thought about it before.

A week or so ago my partner actually pointed it out to me out of the blue !

Yesterday I suddenly started thinking about it. I started to look through the past 5 years of photographs of myself to see if I had always had this mole.

It's hard to say because in some photos you can't see it at all, in some photos it doesn't look as dark.

I can defiantly trace it back to July 2014 where is looks quite obvious.

I can't find any evidence before middle of 2013, either because the mole wasn't there or the photo quality isn't good enough to tell.

I have come to the conclusion that it has definitely become more pronounced.

I have booked an appt for Friday next week and now starting to worry the doctor won't take me seriously. Or worst he refers me to have it removed (that means it COULD be something).

Does anyone know what will happen at the appointment? I've never had a mole checked before.

The mole is brown and my stubble grows through it. It looks like it has gotten darker.

If hair grows through it then it is very highly unlikely to be anything to worry about. Also, with it being on your face, it is more likely to change by being caught by the sun and things like shaving.

I think it's worth having checked, simply because you're not sure if it's changed or not, but I don't think you should worry yourself too much, it really doesn't sound like anything suspicious.

Don't worry about the appointment, I had a mole checked out recently, my doctor was very thorough and took it seriously. She wasn't able to decide for herself if it was anything to be worried about so she referred me to a specialist just to be sure.

The consultant decided to have it removed, but I'm still waiting for the test results.
