Hi everyone, I haven't been on here too much lately as trying to deal without lots of reassurance etc.

Today, I feel like I need some support and some logical words spoken to me!

I had my 2nd specialist gastro appointment today due to the bleeding on toilet paper etc. I had a couple scopes stuck up my butt (again) and I do have small hemms, which I knew from last appt.

He had my blood tests from last time and I was very low on iron. That in itself is not a great surprise to me as I've been anaemic in the past and low iron has always been an issue for me. I was a bit concerned when he said that I could be losing blood. Of course, it could also be that I'm not getting enough iron in my diet. He is trying to get me a colonoscopy "just to be sure" - that worries me! But I have to think he is just doing his job which is a good thing. There is the chance a publicly funded colonoscopy would be declined anyway.

So now it's waiting to see if I can get a colonoscopy. We shall see.

What worries me about appointment:

- that specialist thinks I may need a colonoscopy
- blood tests not being great

What I'm trying to take from appointment as good;

- he doesn't think that it's anything bad, wants to just check
- that my iron has always been problematic

Any words would be much appreciated!

That all sounds pretty positive in terms of it not being life threatening. Sorry you have to wait to see about having a colonoscopy. Will keep thinking of you.
