So sometimes making lists help I've been told. Seeing things written down often helps to ease the worry. Then list at least one positive thing you are going to do today to fight the worries..

Here are mine..

1) I'm going to die because I've caused myself problems smoking.
2) I'm going to leave my children without their mum.
3) I can't live a normal life and do normal things.

Positives..

1) I'm going to get to drive to the petrol station (mammoth task!)
2) I've given my two boys a wonderful hug.
3) I'm not going to check my heart rate as much today.

Well let's see how it goes..

I love this idea! Here's mine:

1) I'm worried I'm going to drop dead because I'm having crazy palps/pvc's/ dizziness, even though I know really that it's because I'm over-tired, stressed and hormonal.

2) I'm worried about keeping my mum happy, healthy and safe since my dad died and she struggles to find a reason to keep living herself.

3) I'm worried that I'm going to fail my GCSE maths exams for a second time in a few weeks.

Positives

1) At least the exam stress will be over soon, only a few more weeks to go!

2) It's nearly the bank holiday weekend so I should get some downtime to regroup and sleep which will help - hurrah!

3) I have thus far managed to stave off a full blown panic attack with the magic breathing and listening to very loud music. Fingers crossed I can keep it up.

Good luck today Trueman, I understand filling the car up being a mammoth task, it's puts the fear in me too, I usually have to make someone come with me.

Good idea!
1. I'm worried I will fail my exam on Friday as I have so much to learn
2. I'm worried my mum wont go to the doctor and there might be something wrong
3. I'm worried I have damaged my back jarring it and, unrelated that there's something wrong with my ovaries and I have cancer or something

But...
1. I've been generally feeling not too bad at all lately and quite positive
2. Although its harder to revise at home I love seeing my mum and she's wonderful
3. My boyfriend stopped being grumpy and snappy and it's lovely to be around him again

Got to the petrol station - just!

Hey thanks for sharing. :yesyes: on staving off panic attack - it can be done! And make sure you get enough sleep if studying. Not long to go - keep positive :yahoo:

Thanks for sharing Alice. Stay strong for Friday :yesyes: and remember exams are stressful in themselves so try to just accept its natural to be anxious at this time and just go with the flow...

Great that your boyfriend is showing some love at the moment :bighug1: my partner is hit or miss ha ha..

This is a great idea :)

1. I'm scared I have skin cancer and that the specialist won't take me seriously at my appt this week.

2. I'm worried that my current health and anxiety issues are going to stop me from finding a full time job.

3. I'm worried about my mum's health deteriorating recently.

Positives...

1. I had an ok sleep last night so I don't feel exhausted this morning!

2. I'm seeing friends later for the first time in a while :)

3. I was lucky getting a dermatologist appt so quickly so even if there is something wrong, I will get seen to sooner.

Hugs for sharing too, :hugs:

Brilliant you are going to meet friends for first time in a while. That is something I REALLY need to do too. I put it off. So huge thumbs up for trying to do that today.
Let me know how it went and try and enjoy! I think I will arrange to meet my friends soon and see how it goes..

Wow, there's certainly a lot of us worrying about our mums! I don't feel so alone now! I also need to get over the barrier of seeing my friends, I've just been shutting them out recently. Hope it goes well for you!

Mums are precious so best just to enjoy them and not worry about them too much. That's what I would do if mine was still here. Hug them and smile :)

Oh I do trust me, and the funny thing is, while I'm busy worrying about her, she's busy worrying about me and the cycle continues haha!

Good idea for a thread!:yesyes:
My 3 main worries:
1) my enlarged lymph nodes are cancerous
2) my sister is sick with some horrible disease and will die soon
3) my mom will develop lung cancer from smoking
Things I will do to combat my worries today:
1) NOT poke/prod at my lymph nodes
2) not use google
3) work on using self-talk when I get anxious
Love this thread! It actually does make me feel a lot better to write my worries down

The lymph nodes behind my ears swell up at the first hint of me being run down or poorly or out of sorts, It's just the way they are for me. Maybe you're the same? In which case it's nothing to worry about which I know is easy to say and so hard to believe but please, don't google! I'm sure you know only to well the dangers of googling, we should get 'googlers anonymous' chips for going a week without googling symptoms!

My teeth
My health (worrying about cancer and other things, but I am not as bad as last year)

I go to the dentist every three months and get any treatment needed.
Not to google anything about health
Going to a job club later, hopefully this one is going to offer me a little bit more help. this one speciise with people with disabilites/health conditions etc.

I hope those lymph nodes didn't get proded too much today :winks:

I once ummed my way to the shops in the car talking to my mum who is no longer here just to get past the anxiety. Self talk works! :whistles:

job club was just an introduction of what help I may get, we talked about a number of things, also I don't feel comfortable with my smile
I am fairly confident I can get help finding employment, (paid)

Why? My smile is a little crooked but what the heck it's a smile..
Anyway, a smile works best from the eyes!

I am completely focussed on just the one main worry today!
1) I just had to fill my car up and even though I checked the fuel pump a million times to make sure it was unleaded petrol and not diesel I have now convinced myself that I have put the wrong fuel in the car. Seriously, I read unleaded on the pump over and over and even went back and checked after I'd been and paid that it said unleaded, but because it was a different petrol station and a different brand than I normally use I'm completely freaking out and convinced myself that the car didn't sound right afterwards and was rattling. I literally don't know how to stop freaking out about this, it's so stupid!

Positives: I feel so much better now that I've decided to give up with the ortho-k overnight lenses. This was definitely a positive decision. I dunno why I thought it would be a good idea to add to my HA with an uneccesary treatment! I already feel some confidence returning having gone back to my normal lenses.

Here is my worries
1) I am worried that I have esophageal cancer
2) I am worried that I have some other illness and going to die
3) I am worried about the medication I'm taking, that it won't work and I'm actually going crazy

Things to do to alleviate this today
1) Try self talk with all three things with positive reaffirmations
2) NOT google the worst case scenarios
3) Journal as it helps me, remember to take one minute at a time if I have to. And to remember, There is no hurry or rush or time limit on when I will be over this.

Hi there MetalYeti. Great name!

Oh it's funny how you become obsessed with the worry over silly things! Hope the fear of the petrol has subsided! Been there..

Thank you for sharing. One day at a time I guess! It's slow but set yourself at least one positive task or aim a day..:)

Hi Miche31 :)

I've done the esophagul Cancer worry too! And I need to do the journal thing. Hope you made some entries and share them if you feel able too. I often think we could all make a good movie about HA and living with it like a comedy ha ha Bridget Jones style.. :roflmao:

I talked to a charity person today, did not donate any money (or left my bank details, not silly enough to do that) hopefully the charity will not pestered me for money as I have op out with my details (being unemployed, especially when I was picking something up.) I do drop the odd coin in charity tins but there only so much you can donate.

Reason I worry about my teeth, because I am embarrased how my teeth look with a few fillings (better than leaving them to get worst) also I think my wisdom teeth are causing some problems even though I been to the dentist for treatment a few weeks ago, I don't like going to dentist, even though I go for checkups every three months.

Not to google about how wisdom teeth will be removed, as I will be told if I need them removing by the dentist how it will be done, or the person going to remove them for me.
