Do SSRIs Help Poor Sleep?

Would like to know people's experience with SSRIs, and did it help with anxiety and insomnia?

I've been on citalopram twice before, and both times it did help me sleep better - I would fall asleep more quickly, wake up less frequently in the night, and the sleep was better quality (albeit with some weird dreams!).

However, for the first few weeks, when I was still going through the starting side effects, it actually made my sleep worse. Once you get over the initial side effects, your sleep will hopefully improve.
