Hi

I used to be quite a regular here but haven't been on for a while. Now I am not sure if HA is rearing it's head of if I genuinely should be worried.

I have had breast pain in the past, have had 2-3 ultrasounds and specialist appointments over the last 4 years. My last was a ultrasound last June. The result is normally a hormonal, lumpy right breast.

I have kept a pain diary for the last few years and realised that the pain starts from around 15 days before my period and goes after starting my period.

However this month the pain has not disappeared- it had stayed during and after my period. I get weird shooting pains in my right breast and around my underarm and the breast it is very tender of touched, pushed etc. I have checked for lumps but cants feel anything and my husband who is my routine breast checker can't feel anything. Sometimes it feels warm from within but no warmer to the touch. I am of course worried about inflammatory breast cancer and breast cancer. I wouldn't be worried but the pain is not related to my period like it normally is.
I have booked a doctors appointment but it is 2 weeks away.

Anyone had similar or advice? X

You already had 2 or 3 scans that I'm guessing came back normal. If I was you I would cancel that doctors appointment. It doesn't sound like breast cancer at all to me. It sound like your pain is coming from a fluctuation in hormones due to your cycle. I understand that it may have lasted longer this month but if the pain feel the exact same, you don't feel any lumps, or other worrying symptoms of breast cancer I'm willing to bet that your usual breast pain just decided to stay around a little longer this month. I'm certain that in two weeks when it's time for your appointment the pain would have been long gone. Good luck
