scary Blood Test

I have asked my GP this question loads of times and they always say the same thing. Blood tests alone do not show up bowel cancer but they usually expect your bloods to be a bit of of sync if there is something going on. I get IBS as well and have the same fears as you . x

If u had something wrong some where your bloods wud be all over the place to worrent investigation further

In regard to bowel cancer, blood tests may show a bit of a 'something's not quite right here' but unless you were symptomatic (change in bowel movement, blood in stool etc) and had an colonoscopy (or alike) nothing would be notified.

The three main things a doctor would look for would be a prolonged period of bleeding, loss of weight and diarrhoea before a referral. A stool test alone is usually a first step.
