Hi,

Looking back I think that I've probably had some form of anxiety issue for 20 years, but have seen the very worst symptoms probably over the past three.

I go through relatively good periods (several months) where I sleep quite well, have less anxiety and no physical pain. However - like now - I have what I'd describe as a constant state of extreme anxiety, little sleep - maybe 2 hours a night - and burning pain mainly in the skin on my chest, arms and legs. These worse periods again often last for many months, during which being alive is difficult. The latest bout seems to have been triggered by a stressful time at work.

I'm taking 60mg cymbalta daily and 50mg trazadone at night, but still these ups and downs occur. No permanent fix.

Can I ask:

Does anyone else see symptoms such as these?
Does anyone take medication which has a positive effect on these symptoms?
Has anyone tried CBT and does it work? I've tried visualisation and breathing exercises, but this seems to do little to avoid the symptoms.

I'd love to get some relief from these symptoms on a semi-permanent basis, as currently it feels like I'm wasting large portions of my life.

Matt

Hi Matt,

I dont share your symptoms, and Ive never tried medication. However after a 10 year battle living with Anxiety, I did CBT with a private counsellor. It was the thing I ever did ;)
