My GP has just added this into the mix alongside my venuflaxine. This is to help with my heightened anxiety ...... is this a normal step.

I was taking Pyracyazine for anxiety up until now , on demand

Hi
I take Olanzapine as an add on with Ven.
It's similar to Quetiapine in that it's an anti psychotic, but in small doses helps with anxiety.
I've found it to be very helpful.
I take it of a night

I took it added on to Citalopram and it was very good for my anxiety.

Had to get up to 100mg for the effect but it was such a help.

Made me sleep a lot though.

It well worth giving a fair try to I think.

Hope you have success with it :)

I have been taking it a week.

Just seen the Mental Health Nurse and he has advised my GP to double the dose, also a short supply of diazepam for when anxiety through the roof.

I also take this at night 100 mg and it makes me eat loads and some days I can't wait to get home and take it as it calms me down loads

Thx Tristan.

I have just been able to start on a double dose, have felt quite slow today.

My Mental Health Nurse advised the slow release 50mg but my GP says no evidence so have prescribed 2*25mg at night

I think the Quetiapine is helping. It's taken a while to get used to the double dose and though I feel a dot dozey I think the anxiety is lessened to what it was 2 weeks ago. I guess they gave to get me off some of my acute medications to get me back to work though.
