So on Tuesday I went to see an ENT consultant for a follow-up appointment as I am still feeling off balance. He didn't really diagnose anything but suggested I have a hearing test carried out (I've got to wait a bit).
Since then I've felt worse especially in the mornings on waking up. I have been really wobbly the last few days and felt like my legs were going to give way. I tried to get an appointment with my GP but there were none available today so I decided to go to my local walk-in centre. The doctor there was very helpful and happened to be an ENT specialist. He did lots of balance tests and ruled out a few things but said my middle ear looked opaque and suggested I speak to my GP about getting further tests done, so basically the same thing as the consultant!
He also said it was unlikely I've got a brain tumour although can't be 100% certain lol (I had been worrying as I read being off balance was a symptom). He couldn't really explain the lights in my eyes though but said if the opticians couldn't find anything to be concerned about it is probably nothing serious and could just be caused by migraines.
It seems like I may finally be getting some answers about my ear. I don't know why I didn't get those answers when I first saw the consultant in March!
Seeing GP tomorrow. Don't know whether it is worth asking for a neurologist referral or to wait and see what happens with the ears.
Has anyone had similar experiences?
I'm now worried it's going to get worse and will cause permanent damage!
