Hard lump forehead??

Out of nowhere I got a HUGE hard bump on my forehead. It's not itchy and is very hard. My mom says its just a mosquito bite but I'm SO scared it's a tumor. Can tumors pop up out of nowhere?

She is probably right and it is an insect bite. We get alot of bites where I live and sometimes its just a hard lump under the skin with nothing visible on the outside which freaked me out big time first time it happened to me. If it is a bite then over the next week it will slowly reduce in size.

If it gets very red or painful then you could have an infected bite so see a Dr but otherwise you can watch and wait.

Okay thanks for your reply. Is it possible that this could be a tumor? Can brain tumors be felt on your forehead?

No brain tumours are inside the brain and are not detectable outside the skull.

Don't play with it just leave it alone and watch and wait and I am sure in a few days it will start to go down .

Okay thanks I really appreciate your response. It's very large, about the size of a baseball. Is this something I should be concerned about and see a doctor for, or is it okay to wait and see?

Yes I would say about that size. Maybe more like a golf ball, but yes it's very big

There is a big difference between a golf ball and a baseball.

Are you sure it isn't smaller than that?

Bites can get big but the size of a golf ball sounds big!

No it's definitely not smaller. I remember having one that big on my leg when I was young so maybe I'm just more prone to it?

Ok well a bite then most likely. Put a cold flannel on it and it should go down soon

Sorry to carry on about this. I'm suddenly getting very anxious about the lump on my forehead. It is not soft like a bug bite and is not itchy. It's just very hard and almost bony. Would a tumor appear in a day?

Not one that is the size of a golf ball.

youll be ok many people react differently to bug bites or diff elements that can irritate the skin
like me i dont respond well to bug bites although the bumps dont get to the size of a baseball or golf ball they get pretty huge
the sad part for me is that if i do get a bug bite and the initial "what was that scratch" can def lead it to bleed
ever visit a dermatologist? maybe you have random skin allergies which arent a big deal more of an annoyance than anything

I have had bug bites that are size of golf balls with no visible redness of skin but they always go away in a few days as yours has. Its just an allergic reaction to the saliva of the biting insect.
