Has anyone ever heard of this? I am taking a class now here at the university I am attending. It seems like it'd be great therapy for anxiety because its focus is being more self-aware of your body and how you use it, and what kinds of things are healthy for it.

I found this list of internet resources: http://www.life.uiuc.edu/jeff/alextech.html

That's all I've got at the moment. =)

Hiya
Yep I studied a bit about it when I did my correspondence course on alternative medicine. Its all about the way we hold ourselves - posture and how it affects our speech and emotions and that we all hold ourselves incorrectly which affects our breathing and our voices and anxiety can be caused by incorrect breathing. Love wenjoy x

People will forget what you did
But people will never forget how you made them feel

Yes, I attended weekly Alexander Technique lessons at a nearby Healthy Living Centre. Even the simplest thing like sitting down in a chair has a right and wrong way to do it. We worked in pairs, taking it in turns to look at each other's posture during various every day movements and helping by placing our hands on their shoulders, back etc. Had a very good teacher and enjoyed the course. Made me aware that I'd been moving wrongly. The floor exercises were very relaxing - I almost fell asleep at one point! Brandy Snap
