Hi all, had a blood test yesterday regarding IBS (that's for another story). I had the blood taken from the middle of my arm but since then i've been experiencing a bit of tenderness/slight pain and a bit of swelling in my upper arm. Is this normal? I'm guessing if it is, it's because she's knocked a nerve or vein or something? I do have a lot of anxiety issues hence I suppose, coming here :D

Many thanks!

I have had an arm that looks like the result of a traffic crash after some blood tests. The worst I had was a Dr who was so rough and by time I left the surgeryI had a huge purple lump the size of a tennis ball at the site, they said it was because he had gone right through my vein and it was a huge blood blister. It healed itself but took about 2 weeks.

I always have an aching arm for rest of day after any blood test, partly I think because they make you keep your arm very straight and that is not something you normally do.
