Drinking alcohol causing symptoms

By drinking a single beer my face starts to fluster and feel hot, my eyes sting and burn and all these symptoms are causing for concern, I'm not a heavy drinker, only a few now and again.

Does anyone else get like this? Or... Am I possibly allergic to alcohol?

I used to get stomach cramps and a red itchy rash on my face that wouldn't leave for days when I drank. So it could be that you're allergic to alcohol. But the best way to tell is to completely get the alcohol out of your system and let your symptoms go away then try having a small drink and see if it has the same effect.

Currently this is the case everytime i drink. Though I've drank alcohol before with no symptoms in the past, can allergies just develop out of thin air like that?

Yeah. When you think about people who are allergic to bee's or nuts their allergies can come on immediately after being stung or eaten something that contains nuts.

It's beer so possibly, but I don't get that way when I eat foods with gluten in them :shrug:
