View Full Version : Venlafaxine not enough, anyone taking it with other anti-anxiety meds?

I've been on Venlafaxine over ten years.

Up until last August I was on 150mg - after my health anxiety became worse it was increased to 225mg and for a while I felt better but then in March I was low again (constant gnawing anxiety regarding health) and so GP increased it to 300mg.

Once again I am struggling, I had a Google to see if there is any med I can take with the venlafaxine (it was for me combined with olanzapine for the first six months years ago) and I wondered if anyone else takes any other meds?

Kind regards,

S x

I am on Escitalopram and have taken Lorazepam for two years but have been put on a beta blocker instead. I'm feeling rough at the mo though with wd. I have mixed meds quite often though. Hope you feel better soon, I heard Venlafaxine can sometimes poop out. I did try it once but couldn't stand the side effects I had.

I am fairly new to ven (75mg), on day 10 and am taking it with 100mg trazodone. I will be staying at those doses for now. At first I was prescribed an ssri again in combination with trazodone, so it was a must in both cases according to my pdoc. I am not sure what it's supposed to do because I started researching the ven pill first and was so horrified by what I read I decided not to do the same for the other drug and just have some trust and hope for the best.

I take mirtazapine with the Ven. I've taken Mirt for a while but I'm new to Ven. Currently at 30mg Mirt and 187.5 Ven.

I've heard it's a good combo (aka california rocket fuel) but I'm yet to get any real benefits from it.

I also take propranolol daily and diazepam in emergencies
