Herpes from someone's hand?

Hello. Today I had to be searched when entering a facility. The person ended up touching my belt buckle due to it going off at the metal detector. They happened to touch my stomach a bit.

If they had the virus on their hands, could I have contracted herpes?

If you're so worried about contracting an STD from totally impossible situations, how come the fact that you smoke, which can and will cause physical issues, doesn't bother you?

Because anxiety is irrational, and doesn't always fit into the rules of what we should and shouldn't be anxious about, I get your point, but this is pretty common with anxiety, concern about one situation and disregard for another which is more problematic - strange how the brain works!
