I can't remember the last time I had a full day with no issues, I never visit a gp unless I'm in real pain or discomfort. I suffer with chest pain but one year ago I had all tests possible on my heart and all was normal but still have missed beats! I also suffer with confirmed diverticulosis and it plagues me every single day and I'm only 41, managed to get a referral to a specialist surgeon so already my mind is racing with worst case scenarios!! I feel weak and lethargic most of the time and hide behind the TV to escape the real world, I work full time but my hearts not in it anymore, I'm not depressed or overly stressed but I never get a full nights sleep as I wake up needing the loo. Was just sat watching TV earlier and suddenly started to get very hot and sweaty, I'm convinced something sinister is eating away at me inside as each morning my tummy is burning inside. I hide all of this from my wife as she just says I'm negative but I'm in physical pain so it's not my mind!!

Please does anyone understand or get these symptoms I'm really at my wits end!

The burning sensation and chest pain makes it sounds like you might have GERD, which can be entirely unrelated to your diverticulosis.

A lot of us here are only too familiar with GERD, and many of us believe there is a relationship to skipped heartbeats since the nerves to the stomach and heart are right next to each other.

(I've actually given myself heart skips from drinking ice cold water, belching and yawning, the latter two causes confirmed on ECG.)

As you can see, several of your issues may actually be related to GERD. It can even wake us from our sleep repeatedly all night without us being aware it has done so.

I'd suggest reading about it, see if it makes sense to you and if it does, talking to a doctor and reading about what you can do with diet, etc. would be next.

I read these pages almost everyday to try to find the answers to my fears, I'm at a stage in my life where I'm to scared to have a holiday or even visit family for a few days just in case something bad happens to me... Today sat at my desk I felt so dizzy all of a sudden, it was so bad I thought I was going to fall of my chair! I spent the next hour searching doctor Google! What is happening to me? I'm I approaching the end????

Highly unlikely... breathe deep and slow and read some of the threads on here rather than Dr G!
