After 12 years of taking effexor and feeling like crap for the past year I've gone cold turkey for nearly 4 weeks.

I've now got bad muscle tension and have been exercising/relaxing etc to help it in the hope it will go but it doesn't seem to be improving. Can anyone help me with some advice - is this still effexor withdrawal or is this really how I'm going to be from now on as I can't bear it!?

Thanks

I dont think cold yurkey is a very good idea. You have been on this drug a very long time.Have you spoken to your doctor.Sometimes withdrawl symptoms can take a couple pf months to really start causing you problems. It can be very dangerous to go off these drugs cold turkey.

Doesn't sound as if you did it under doctor's supervision. Might be worthwhile going to talkl it through with him/her. I'm coming off Effexor at the moment and doing it at a snail's pace.

Sorry to hear you feel so bad but you really must come off these meds very very slowly by reducing the dose slowly.

Maybe have a word with the doc about it.
