Hi everyone. Im Pieter Im 37 from Grimsby in the UK.

I am Stevedore Foreman (or as the guys across the pond say 'a longshoreman')

I have PTSD and social anxiety problems. I am married with 2 daughters and a step daughter.

I live in the middle of a field 4 miles from the nearest neighbour (and I wonder why I cant socialise) but it suits my situation just fine.

I tend to waffle on a bit and talk and talk and talk. So if you see my posts and they are rambling like this one please forgive me.

Hi and welcome to NMP, Pieter :welcome:

Sounds like an interesting occupation.

I've read a few of your posts so far and I think you have a great perspective on anxiety and I liked the courage you showed in breaking down the boundaries with your work mates.

Thank you.

Im just one of those people who don't see my mental health as a disability, more of limp or a squint in my eye.

Sure Im not the same as many around me. But my personality is linked to my mental health and I have some great friends and a fantastic wife. 3 lovely daughters who understand my issues. So my PTSD and my depression cant be all that bad when you look at it like that.

Sure I would like it to go away and not to be there. But Im like a lion tamer at the moment. I actually enjoy learning about it, the more I learn the more I can teach it to sit and behave.

I may not get rid of it, but I am sure that I will be able in time to have it doing tricks and letting me rub its belly.

Just a shame my dog isn't as obedient lol!
