Okay who here gets the constant light headedness/dizziness where the room does not spin but you feel off balance and not clear headed?

I'm so sick of this.. I've had blood tests, ct scan, i've seen a neurologist, had a balace test, reflex test and nothing! It's been constant for pretty much 4 months.. maybe 2 times i went for a few days where i felt pretty good but other than that I cant rid myself of this and i hate it!!

I'm at the point where i'm starting to think its not anxiety again!

Well i guess what i'm looking for from posting this is some support from people who suffer with this or has suffered from this in the past.. Any tips, stories, answers would be VERY welcome! PLEASE ANYONE that knows what its like please help me out... thanks so much

Hi Joe
I am another that suffers dizziness/light headedness and unreality feelings such as my head feels stuffed with cotton wool, or smoe days it seems so bad its like im looking but everything is weird and different. Trust me, it is anxiety. My dizziness used to be so bad i couldnt get off of my bed, i had to give up my job etc...but now i am out of bed, go out etc...i still have a hard time getting out but when i go out the same thing happens, even down to doing the dishes, or ironing etc i get dizzy. I think alot of it is memory, you know how you felt last time you did this thiis or that and because u remember how you felt, you bring it all back with you to the now.
What i try and do is shift my focus onto what i am doing, even sing at times something like.....i know what this is, you dont bother me anymore, and really be silly while i sing it, one its reminding me what it is and its been like it for years and i am still here and secondly, to throw in a bit of humour lightens it up, helps you let go of that tense frightening hold...( trust me, you wouldnt want to be a fly on my wall at times lol ) or on other occassions i just let it all go, just let the feelings come and go...the more you fight it the worse it gets, the more you think about it the worse it gets, try and remember that.
If you go a couple of days of not having it as bad or at all that is fantastic, but once you start to think oh my dizziness has gone, i feel better etc...its a matter of reminding yourself what you have felt like and it is bound to pop back to remind you once again.
Anxiety feeds upon fear, a fearful mind will keep the symtoms alive and burning.
Try and relax, remind yourself of what it is, and just keep doing what you want to do. You will be fine :o)
best of luck and take care

Dizziness or light-headedness
The sensation:
You feel suddenly light-headed, woozy or dizzy. This is sometimes accompanied by a feeling that you might faint or pass out. It also may feel as though you are walking on a boat, or that the floor seems to move up and down and it's hard to balance. You may also have difficulty placing your feet because your perception of the ground or floor may be wrong. In some cases it may seem that even though you are standing on a firm floor, the floor may be vibrating or moving.
The reason:
This symptom has a few variations. Some people may experience a sudden head rush feeling, which goes almost as quickly as it comes. As long as the individual doesn’t react with more fear, the symptom will come and go and will vary in frequency from a number of times per day, to a few times a month.
Another variation includes a constant state of unbalance, spinning, wooziness, fogginess and so on. Often it is accompanied by a feeling that you may pass out (some people do, however, that’s not common).
This symptom has a few causes. It could be from a blood sugar imbalance, hyperventilation (not getting enough oxygen) or an inner ear or ear pressure condition.
This is a common symptom and sometimes an individual can experience both forms, and at different times. I did.
There are tests available that can accurately identify a blood sugar imbalance, however, most often this isn’t the main cause. Typically, those with anxiety disorder have their blood sugar levels within the safe range when tested. However, long periods without eating may aggravate the condition because blood sugar levels may drop too low because of not eating. It’s important to eat regular wholesome and natural food so that the fluctuations in blood sugar remain in the normal range.
If you are experiencing this symptom, having medical tests may be beneficial. Certainly, to rule out any other cause.
If your symptom is a result of hyperventilation, deliberately deep slow breathing will reduce and even eliminate this symptom.
While deep relaxation will help to diminish and eliminate most symptoms, I’ve personally found that this symptom is one that hangs on the longest, and is the least responsive to immediate counter action. However, a regular deep relaxation routine provided me with results… it just took awhile.
As with all symptoms, when the nervous system gets sufficient rest, this symptom will diminish and eventually subside.

Hi, maybe you can help me too....I totally understand the feeling. I have been feeling lightheaded for at least two weeks now, every day, all day, sometimes it comes and goes but it is always there. Everyone has told me the same thing too...it's anxiety. Hard to believe because you think there has to be something else. I understand. Take care.

Hi Shelly,

I'm sorry you too are feeling this way and i DO understand.. But what else can it be? I have had soooo many tests and seen over 6 doctors in the past 4 months.. We have to accept that it is what it is and learn to focus away from these thoughts of fear.. I myself have been reading a book by Claire Weekes which is starting to open my eyes to the power of anxiety and what it can do.

Fear is what is keeping this with us.. I myself am still learning how to rid myself of this but we just have to be strong..

Feel free to pm me or add me to you msn if you have any questions.. :)

I have this when I am very stressed out. I had to come home from work on Thursday cos I felt dizzy and spaced out. The floor seemed to be coming up towards me too. I was also very tired. Its lasted a few days but has been better today after a good rest!

I've also noticed that my dizziness/light headedness is at it's worst during the week while i'm at work. The weekends are not so bad it seems like i can deal with it on the weekends and the bouts of dizziness don't last to long... Although while i'm at work its constant! The bright lights don't help either.. Some days it's hard to belive it's anxiety when it gets VERY bad. It does help knowing I am not alone here and others get this too.. Just have to learn how to deal with this and make it go away!

Any tips? hehe

Hi Shelly I Get This Too. It Seems To Come And Go All Day Long. I Too Am So Sick Of It. But I Found That When I Am Distracted It Goes Away. But Once I Focus On It, It Comes Back Again. I Hate That Wobbly Feeling You Get With It. Just Try To Do Something To Get Your Mind Off Of It.
