ringing and hissing in one ear

The past 2/3 weeks 2 weeks I think mainly. My left ear as had the above ringing and hissing. But last week it was mainly ringing. N now seems more hissing. I only can hear it when things are quiet. I'm frightens. Been having waves of panic come over me here.

I get this on one side, I have TMJ which can definitely cause this. TMJ can be associated with anxiety and is caused by clenching or grinding your teeth in your sleep.
