I had two moles removed after severe HA about all my moles over the past year. I saw two different dermatologists and the second decided to remove two moles. One on my leg came back fine but the one on my back which was two colours came back with 'some changes' but no evidence of cancer. Now I'm freakish a bit. Yes it's not cancer which is what I should be concentrating on but what does 'changes' mean. I googled it which I suppose is not the same as googling something you only 'think' you have... So maybe this is a valid reason to google.
All I could find was people saying they had some moles removed that had changes before they were then diagnosed with melanoma in another mole later on. There are a few moles all over my body which I managed to stop panicking about but I didn't show my dermatologist them because my GP only referred me with two to be checked. As some of you will know, the NHS can be quite strict and he just said I'm only concentrating on these two, if you have any other concerns go back to your GP.
I'm worried now because I don't want any other moles to be changing without me realising. The one on my back was two colours but it had always been that way, even my mum said it didn't look any different to when I was a child. So here I am worrying about the others on my back and one on my stomach that is new as of a couple of years ago and looks a bit irregular.
Do I go back to my GP? He knows I have HA and he is quite understanding but I don't want to be told it's just your HA... The first derm I was referred to last year said my mole was fine... And now I get the results saying there were changes in it. I think I've lost trust of some doctors after other medical problems in the past.
I must stress that the derm who removed my moles said I don't need to go back to him and I have been discharged. I just feel like I want to see him again for him to check my other moles but that's just no how the NHS works. I have to go back to my GP.
I'm just at a loss. I had pre cancerous cervical cells removed last year and I'm just feeling like my body is a ticking time bomb. I'm only 25. I am getting CBT and although only early days, I do think it's helping but this news about my mole has pulled me back in to HA.
Has anyone got any ideas about changes in moles? Or any advice at all?
I am angry at myself for posting here again but this is all a bit too much now :(
Thanks everyone
