my mole fails the abcde test

A mole on my back is asymmetric and a bit red with weird edges. I first noticed it in February and my doctor said it was benign. But why is it suspicious looking? :scared15:

ABCDE is just a guideline. Many, many moles that fail that test are benign. Your doctor is best one to tell you. I have many that fail that test, as do my husband, that doctors have cleared.

Thankyou! I honestly thought if the mole fails this then thats it. Thats good to know, thanks. I might reconsider about going to the docs again.:)

Most of mine fail that test. I have about 100 moles and only a handful actually fit those guidelines. It's when they fail them all and are black and bleeding and scabby and itching that you really need to worry. If I worried about every mole I had, I'd be a nervous wreck so have to just watch for rapid changes
