Pins and needles

I am currently nearing the end of a two week holiday in Menorca, at the start of the holiday I started experiencing pins and needles in my left thumb and forefinger, also in the left corner of my lips, and a metallic taste in my mouth.
I have recently had my cholesterol tablets strength increased to 80mg from 40, also a different brand, could this be the cause, I have never experienced any side effects from any medication before., I do not think that I am stressed in any way either.

I would ring a pharmacist when you return home or now if you can just to see if it is the side effects of the med increase if not see your GP.

I had planned that anyway, just wanted to see if anybody could throw some light on my symptoms.
